Perfect food on a date defines a great date—not good makeup, clothes, or cars, but great food. What better than great food on a date? A romantic dinner on the shores of the Perdido Key. A seafood treat with your date is all you need.

So, we are here with five of the best locations on the Perdido Key for a perfect romantic seafood dinner date. Let the countdown begin:

#5 Flora-Bama Ole River Grill

First up at #5 is Flora-Bama Ole River Grill, located on Orange Beach. It has a spectacular menu that includes lip-smacking Pasta and highly rated Shrimp and Grits. The restaurant’s atmosphere is incredible, and so is the menu.

Other highly rated and best-selling items include Raw Oysters, a Combo Fish and Shrimp Basket, and Onion Rings. The main attraction, though, is its waterfront view, and the beautiful surroundings are one key ingredient of a romantic date in this area.

In addition to a glorious view, the restaurant has a friendly staff and a huge outdoor deck where you can take in the atmosphere and enjoy the delicious food. They do have an award-winning chef in their ranks, after all.

#4 Crab Trap Perdido Key

Crab Trap is a perfect place for a date with your family. How, you may ask? Well, Crab Trap has a beachfront playground area for kids—hmmmm, maybe that’s where the trap comes in from Crab Trap. Your kids can go and play in the playground area while you and your spouse can gorge on the delicious delicacies of Crab Trap.

It is still a pretty good romantic dinner spot because the food is actually a head-turner. Crab Trap has its award-winning dish, Gumbo (which is to die for), and Alaska Crab Legs is its bestseller. If you want, then the restaurant also offers gluten-free and vegetarian options.

The Key Lime Pie is a must-have; other solid options in Crab Trap are the Crab Cakes, Snow Crab and Shrimp, and Crab Trap Mahi. The atmosphere is excellent, and so is the helpful staff; it is just a really good place to go on a date. You need a friendly atmosphere with good food as one of the requirements for a good date.

#3 The Gulf

The Gulf is another smashing spot for a great seafood dinner date. It is also located on Orange Beach. We have included The Gulf because it offers something different to its customers. If you are looking for a romantic yet a bit happening date, this is the spot for you. The restaurant has a party vibe with the way it is set up and the atmosphere.

The restaurant has a unique design: it is made out of decommissioned Shipping Containers. Hence, it has a different vibe as compared to the other restaurants; it makes you feel like you are actually on some deserted island, but with great food and service, of course.

Here are some of the dishes you can try at The Gulf: Gulf Burger, Alaskan Snow Crab Legs, Lobster and Shrimp Roll, and Key Lime Tart. The Gulf is a good spot for a casual romantic date. It has a great atmosphere and good food, and it certainly has a unique vibe. One of the must-try destinations in Perdido Key.

#2 Fisherman’s Corner

We are now in a zone where the restaurant may not be the most aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but the food more than makes up for it. That is why we have ranked it at #2. We said in the beginning that food has to be the most important feature of your romantic date, and Fisherman’s Corner delivers greatly in that aspect.

The most recommended items on the menu are the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich and the Crab Cake BLT. Fried Green Tomatoes are a must-have in the appetizers section. The Gumbo and the Snapper Tacos are also elite, and as for the dessert, the Cheesecake takes the cake (You see what we did there!).

Fisherman’s Corner is all about the food, food, and food. Again, it might not be the prettiest place in the world, but the food makes up for it. The staff is amazing and helpful and will help you get your order right. You will come out of this restaurant fulfilled and happy, and so will your date. So, if you and your date are foody, this is your place.

#1 The Jellyfish

We have saved the best for last. The Jellyfish aces every single department. From food to ambiance to atmosphere to location, everything is class. Established as recently as 2011, The Jellyfish thrives on its multicultural food concept. Their food menu is diverse, headlined by their famous Sushi.

It is probably the best place for a romantic seafood dinner. The menu has something for everyone: go for the classic Fish and Chips or try the staple Gumbo. How about dessert? You can go for the bread pudding or the key lime pie, or even the crème brûlée – every item is lip-smackingly fantastic.

When we said that, this restaurant aced every department, including the hospitality side. The staff is courteous and super helpful; you can ask for help selecting the perfect dish, and they will oblige. This is also one of the reasons this restaurant is highly rated by travelers.

Bryan Minchew, The Jellyfish’s co-owner, once said, “Anything worth doing is worth doing well,” In that regard, the restaurant has nailed everything. From the food to the atmosphere, everything feels natural and comfortable. That is the core reason why it tops our list of the best romantic restaurants in the Perdido Key area.
